Individual Mental Health Therapy
Nelson Therapy and Consulting offers individual mental health therapy provided by registered clinical social workers using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach that integrates Indigenous expressive arts and Western therapeutic models. Services support children, youth, and adults experiencing trauma, mental health concerns, attachment challenges, addictions, and personal growth needs. Sessions are 60 minutes in length. All mental health therapists are approved to provide NIHB - covered services, and our team includes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous clinicians. We also provide services through CFS contracts. While we do not direct bill private insurance companies, our services are widely recognized for client reimbursement through extended health benefit plans.
Wholistic Wellness Therapy (Action Therapy–Informed)
Wholistic Wellness Therapy is a non-clinical, relationship-based service grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and informed by Action Therapy models. This approach emphasizes consistency, connection, and skill-building through land-based learning, cultural practices, play, movement, and Indigenous expressive arts. Youth are typically supported for a minimum of 10 hours per month and may receive assistance with emotional regulation, social skills, crisis support, cultural connection, creative expression, physical activity, and healing from experiences such as sexual exploitation. Wholistic Wellness Therapists bring diverse backgrounds in social services, honouring both formal education and lived experience, and work in ways that are culturally respectful, strengths-based, and community focused.
